Herman Hjorth Berge comes from Stavanger, Norway, and currently lives in Stockholm, Sweden. His practice exists somewhere between the disciplines of art, architecture and academia and seeks to address injustice in the “built” (degrading) environment through engagement with places. Current research interests include: the ongoing industrialisation of the Norwegian landscape; the legacy of the Nazi occupation of the country; and the intimate relationship between urban development and the destruction of nature. Herman holds a BFA in Architectural Design from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
