Sam Moske is an artist working with video und text, based in Berlin. They studied Acting at HfMT Hamburg and Fine Arts under Prof. Rosa Barba at HfK Bremen; in 2021 they were invited by Malmö Konsthall for a residency as Iaspis grant holder. In their video work, they collaborate with fellow artists. Public places are filmed as scenery, and with lines from the Western literary canon they with their performers test the narrative trajectories of those places’ history. Literature is thought of as an “archive of psychologies”: the videos are improvised on site, relating the atmosphere of a place to the most intimate cultural production.
They teach in the course “Performative Methods” (initiated in tandem with and still facilitated by Howard el-Yasin) as visiting artist, and recently collaborated on several projects with the philosopher Luce deLire.
